My Final Plan

How can I nake this short and simple? At a certain point, all decisions become easy, the right answer obvious.

I have decided to stop dialysis in the next two weeks. After all my efforts to change my circumstances have failed, and after my appeals for help have drawn insufficient response, I refuse to continue with life this way.

I may write more if I can, but that is my decision and the plan that I’m proceeding with. Obviously, if there is a significant change to my circumstances, I will re-evaluate.

As of right now, November 1, 2022, I am facing the prospect of spending the next eight nights on the street, but after tomorrow or the next day, I will have no more money for food.

Justice matters. The biggest myth in our society is society’s denial of its own existence. We try to make-believe that each individual is responsible for the circumstances of their life, but in reality, society dictates outcomes far more than individual choices do.

There are people who have conducted their life in such a way that the argument can be made that perhaps they deserve to live—or die—in the street. I am not one of those people. Obviously, the world disagrees.
